The police at Olosan Division, Mushin, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, have apprehended the run-away father of the three-day old baby that was found dead in a polythene bag. The suspect Sodiq Olaomo was arrested yesterday.
According to Mr. Tajudeen Adedapo Salami, the landlord of the couple “Sodiq came home drunk at night on Wednesday, the day his wife was arrested.
“I quickly ran to lock the door so that he cannot escape, because I knew he intended to pick his property and leave the house.
“I made a call to the policemen at Olosan Police Station who responded promptly and arrested him.”
It was gathered at the police station Sodiq said he was not aware that his wife killed her baby adding, “I did not even know she was pregnant. She always told me that her big tommy was because she had fibroid.”
The police at Olosan Division, Mushin had earlier picked up his wife Mrs. Toyin Sodiq Olaomo whose three-day old baby was found dead inside a polythene bag in the ceiling of their residence, 353, Agege Motor Road, Challenge, Mushin, Lagos.
The baby was said to have been covered with blood
The couple might be arraigned in court very soon.

Landlady dies after fighting with tenant in Ikorodu, Lagos
Detectives at the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, PantiYaba Lagos are presently interrogating two tenants, Florence Ndukuwe and Ndukwe Chukudibere for allegedly beating their landlady Mrs. Oladunni Bisiriyu ,48.
It was learnt that there was a quarrel between the two tenants and the late Mrs. Bisiriyu, the landlord’s wife at their 4, Fabulous Street, Igbo Olomu, Ikorodu residence on Saturday.
During the ensuing fracas, the landlord’s wife was said to have sustained internal injury and was rushed to a nearby private hospital. But before the doctors at the hospital could offer any assistance, Mrs. Bisiriyu died.
Neighbours reported the incident to policemen at Owutu division and Florence and Chukudebere were arrested.
At the police station, policemen informed that Florence confirmed that they engaged her landlady in a scuffle, but she later learnt of the woman’s death.
After preliminary investigation, Florence and Chukudibere were moved to the SCID, Panti, for further investigation.

Then it was a norm among the big boys to gather at different fun spots on Fridays, where they usually enjoyed their weekends with their girlfriends. They were all gathered at Excellence Hotel in Ogba and one of them placed a call to Ola Kukoyi to meet them at the hotel for their normal Thank God it’s Friday session.
Not suspecting anything, he strolled into the hotel to enjoy himself and after the usual throwing of banters, he was confronted with the allegation. He tried to deny it but his accusers didn’t wait for him to give any flimsy excuse before they asked some of their boys to descend on him and beat him mercilessly.
As if the beating was not enough, he was also stripped naked in the presence of all the girls present, who laughed heartily when they saw his manhood dangling right and left while he begged to be spared of the shame that the his uncontrollable sexual appetite had brought to him.
When he could no longer bear the pain, he summoned courage to flee the scene in his birthday suit, just like he did in London when he fled from a scene of crime which led to why his body got burnt.
Perhaps many people didn’t know that Ola Kukoyi specialized in credit card scam in Europe. While the going was good he made so much money defrauding the British government and citizens which he spent on frivolities.
Ola Kukoyi then lured many promising youthful Nigerians who he trained in the crime because they wanted to live big like him, not knowing that he was a kingpin fraudster in London.

Same sex marriage legalised in New york
The Falls were lit as the first couples to unite as one joined hands. Several other same-sex couples married at the same ceremony. Weddings across the state of New York were being held at Midnight as the state became the sixth in the Union to accept same-sex marriages.
Lambert and Rudd, both grandmothers, have been waiting more than a decade for the right to be married. Mayor Paul Dyster presided over the ceremony.
In Albany, the state capital, Mayor Jerry Jennings performed marriages in the Common Council’s Chambers. The 24-hour waiting period between the issue of a marriage license and the ceremony, was waved by a Supreme Court Judge. Jennings estimated that many ceremonies would occur in the following days.
Anti-same-sex marriage groups staged protests in all areas expecting couples to tie the knot. Nothing could dissuade the brides and grooms from their destiny. Walking past demonstrators, several couples tied the knot at 12:01. Many more are expected. Several couples are from outside New York. Ara ''the female drummer'' set to bring usher to Nigeria for an awareness campaign against malaria
Popular female drummer and singer, Aralola Olumuyiwa best known as Ara is set to bring celebrated US pop star, Usher for a duet targeted at creating awareness for a new project, ‘War Against Malaria Project’ (WAMP).
The musician who only recently announced her separation from her husband of two years, says the project is one of her many ways of giving back to society. She further noted that other international acts will also be part of the already confirmed project which is an initiative of her foundation, ‘The Ara Passion Projection Foundation’ (TAPPF).
Speaking at her family residence in Ajao Estate, in Lagos, she stated, ‘We are trying to create an international recognition to help in fighting Malaria by distributing free treated mosquito nets for nursing mothers especially pregnant women‘. And when asked why she wishes to embark on such project, she further explained, ‘I almost lost my son, Ire to Malaria once. He took us hours to revive him. But think of all those women who may not be able to afford medicines for their childre. I have a case of a woman who was carrying an almost lifeless child around, because she couldn’t afford N800 naira for drugs…‘
However, the date for the start of this project is yet to be scheduled, but according to her, an agreement has been reached for Usher’s participation.
So looks like we’ll have to keep our fingers crossed…
