News making rounds on various Nigerian blogs and gossip website seem to suggest that the wedding dress Mercy Johnson bought for her upcoming wedding in August was paid for by the Governor of Edo State, Nigeria. He is alleged to be an admirer of Mercy and has lavished her with gifts in the past. It is further rumored that he organizes parties with close network of friends in his palatial home and during such parties ladies from universities and in Nollywood industry are invited in excess for the exclusive men of means to make their pick. Comrade Adams, in the words of our insider picks three to four girls per night because of his voracious sexual appetite.
On June 2, 2011 when Comrade Adams jetted to Dubai for over a week and was said to have made the trip with Mercy. It is on the said trip that he purportedly gave her the $50,000 for the dress. But the irony to the speculation however is that, Mercy did indeed purchase an expensive dress for her wedding for an undisclosed amount and was in the company of her husband during their trip to New York. Why would someone who is engaged and preparing to get married be willing to receive such lavish gifts from a supposed admirer? Would her beau entertain such advances anyway? Besides, if the governor so wishes to give her the money for the gift would it not be considered a benevolent act on his part for which the love birds of Mercy and her fiancé simply say “Thank You” for your kind gesture and end of story? What do you think about the veracity of this story?
